President's Corner

“Being a Rotarian is a privilege to be of service to others, a kind of service that transcends oneself. That is what Rotary is all about, SERVICE ABOVE SELF.

Everyday is an opportunity to loose oneself in service for others. Do not let each day pass without an act of kindness and generosity.

Be relevant to others everyday.”

The Rotary Club of Baguio South Tree Planting Project (Part 1)

Last July 1, 2021 The Rotary Club of Baguio South kicked off the RY 2021-2022 with a tree planting project at The Baguio Botanical Garden/Neda Dap-ay area. During this project we planted 250 Coffee Seedlings donated by DENR-CENRO Baguio which can be harvested once the seedlings have grown and propagated. The planting of the coffee seedlings aims to create a good degree of biodiversity, propagate and grow more coffee trees and create a sustainable source of coffee in the reserve. During this project we were joined by Rotaractors, DENR-CENRO staff, RCC/LP-KALIPI, volunteers and friends of RCBS.

The Rotary Club of Baguio South Tree Planting Project (Part 2)

Plant for Life project part 2 was carried out today, July 9,2021 as a continuation of our kickoff project last July 1 ,2021. The Plant For Life Project 2 supports PMA’s environmental initiatives through the planting 1000 seedlings of assorted Pine Trees and Coffee Trees in the PMA grounds. This project aims to increase abundance of pine trees in the PMA grounds as well as create a sustainable source of coffee inside the camp once the seedlings have propagated. This project is in cooperation with the PMA cadets & officers, Department of Environment Natural Resources- CENRO (Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices) and The Rotaract Club of Baguio South.

Share A Meal Project

The Rotary Club of Baguio South continues its commitment to service by sharing meals to indigent children in Quisumbing Street, Trancoville Baguio City. With the covid pandemic still posing as a threat to our community, it is challenging for the club to do feeding programs. However, we need to be resilient and find ways to still fulfill maternal and child health projects thus the Share A Meal Project. To adhereto health protocol standards, we gave pre-packed meals to indigent children in the specified area. This project is in partnership with The Good News Community Church, Good news Student Center PH170.
